Rules & Regulations
General Rules and Regulations Applicable to All Sections of The Cemetery
The Cemetery is open 365 days/year, dawn 'til dusk
- The superintendent has general charge of the grounds, under the supervision of Andrews Properties, Inc
- No interment/inurnrtaent in the grounds of the cemetery will be permitted unless the superintendent shall give written permission authorizing same
- No interment/inurnarnent will be permitted until the space and interment fees are paid in full
- All spaces shall be held under the provision of the act of the general assembly of North Carolina entitled Andrews Properties, Inc., and said spaces shall not be used for any purpose other than as a place for the burial of the dead
- No lot owner shall allow interments to be made on his/her burial space for remuneration or compensation, nor shall any transfer or assignment of any space or any interment therein be valid without the approval of Andrews Properties, Inc
- No planting of trees, shrubs, or any plants may be made without the approval of the superintendent
- No monuments or markers of any type may be placed in the cemetery without being approved by the superintendent
- Flowers, wreaths, funeral designs, and flags will be removed from the graves when, in the judgment of the superintendent, they have become unsightly. Seasonal arrangements for Christmas and other holidays will be removed one (1) month after the holiday
- Debris that is cleared by the lot owners shall be placed at the roadside as to not interfere with traffic passage
- Bicycles, motorcycles, and skateboards are not permitted within, the cemetery grounds
- All head stones and bronze memorials must be placed at the head of the space (no exceptions). All flat markers must be level with the ground. In the upright stone section only, there may be a foot marker not to exceed 12 x 24 inches. Ex. A veterans flat stone marker
- Potted plants, cut flowers and wreaths will be allowed at all times on the space, but may, at the discretion of the superintendent, be removed if they become unsightly
- No double burials (one on top of the other) will be permitted
- One traditional burial and one set of remains will be allowed in one burial space, or two sets of cremated remains will be allowed in one burial space
- Bronze markers are not permitted in the stone section. And no stone markers are allowed in the bronze section. (no exceptions)
- Every space owner in the upright stone section (sections A and D) shall have the right to place at the head of his or her space an upright stone monument. Stone will be either granite or marble. No metal memorial or other materials of any kind are allowed in the stone section
- No stone monument in the upright stone section is to exceed four (4) feet in height, including the base, with the footing of the monument to be level with the ground.. The base and footing of the marker shall not exceed fourteen (14) inches in width. Markers on a single grave space shall not exceed forty (40) inches in length. Markers on a double grave space shall not exceed eighty-eight (88) inches in length
- All vases in the upright stone section must be placed on the base portion of the upright marker. No vases shall be allowed on the ground, in front of, beside of, or behind the upright marker. (No free standing vases)
- Every space owner, in the stone section,( sections B and C) shall have the right to a flat stone marker only, with no vase permitted (no exceptions). The length of a single marker is limited to forty (40) inches and a. double marker for two (2) spaces is limited to sixty-two (62) inches
- Coping, chains, or any other obstructions will not be permitted for marking spaces: corner markers not exceeding six (6) inches square will be permitted. These must be level with the ground. Comer markers are allowed. only in the stone section of the cemetery
- In the bronze marker sections of the cemetery, the marking of graves is restricted to flat bronze markers only, with or without a vase
- No mounds or other obstructions interfering with the operations of mowers will be permitted
- The planting of any kind of flowers, shrubbery. or any floral will not be allowed on the burial spaces in the cemetery
- Flowers when supplied must be placed in removable vases or other removable light weight receptacles that will not interfere with the proper cleaning of the graves
- The cemetery is not responsible for any damage to markers or theft of personal items or ornamental items from acts of vandalism
- No objects or flags that are offensive in nature will be allowed on the grave sites
