James Thomas Bradley, 71, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Davis Health Care Center.
Jim was born November 26, 1942 in Fairmont, WV, son of the late Herbert and Inez Corley Bradley.
Mr. Bradley proudly served his country aboard diesel submarines in the U.S. Navy. He was a resident of Wilmington since 1971. Jim served as Assistant Scout Master while his son and grandson were in the boy scouts. He was an avid golfer at Landfall Country Club. Jim was an engineer for many years prior to joining his wife in real estate, originally with Prudential and more recently with Intracoastal Realty.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and a caring friend to all who knew him. Jim displayed a positive, courageous attitude while battling numerous health challenges. The family would like to thank the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Davis Health Care nurses who cared for him. Thanks to everyone for their support and prayers.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Bradley; son, Scott Bradley and wife, Sally Meehan, of Denver, CO; grandchildren, James Ryan Cyphers, Jameson Alexander Bradley, and Julia Irene Bradley; uncle, Charles Corley; and cousin, Libby Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm tonight, Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Andrews Market Street Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, August 22, 2014, at Andrews Market Street Chapel with Rev. Paul Klouse officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens with military honors.
